Volunteer
Dog Walking- Volunteers are needed to walk and socialize the canil dogs. If you are 18 or older, we want your help. Dog walking teaches the canil dogs to walk on lead which makes them more adoptable. The dogs enjoy the attention, love a cuddle and its good exercise for all! We walk on Thursday mornings starting at 9:00 in the summer and 9:30 in the fall, winter, and spring.
Puppy Socialization - Puppy socialization takes place Monday-Wednesday and Friday mornings through Support Friends of Canil de Portimao facebook page or contact Monique moniquegieling25@gmail.com
Puppy socialization takes place in Lagoa.
Cats - We currently have a full staff of volunteers to socialize the cats and clean their cages.
Errands - Do you have a few hours a week to volunteer and have your own car? Volunteers are needed to take animals to the vet, trimmer, and/or airport. We can supply a box or crate if needed.
Fosters - Foster homes are needed for dogs and cats. Can you offer a temporary home for an animal? Fostering helps take the first steps toward finding a new, loving forever home for a dog or cat.
You'll also be freeing up space so that we can rescue more animals in desperate need. Of course we take care of all the involved cost.
