FCP has a strict adoption process. This benefits both adoptees and our animals and helps ensure that the correct match is made.  Potential adoptees are interviewed in person before a home check is made.

While we do not have an adoption fee, we require adopter to pay for vaccination, chip, and registration of pet. Donations are also welcome as they help us to continue our work to take care of and rehome as many animals as possible.

Note: We only rehome dogs as family pets, not guard dogs.

Dogs labeled as dangerous have additional requirements.

Deciding to adopt

Adopting a pet is a lifetime commitment. You need to consider whether you have the time, energy and money to take care of the new member of your family.

Have you thought carefully and determined the type (dog or cat), age (young, adult or senior), activity level, and size that fits you, your home and your lifestyle?

Visit the canil or foster and meet the available dogs/cats.

Spend time with them by walking or playing with them.

Interview and Home check

Interview - an in person interview with the adopter  takes place first  to help determine what pet would be a good fit.  We will do our best to help you find the right companion.

Next is a home check. This is a very important part of the process.  This is when we will try to offer tips of what you can do to help ease the adjustment period for your pet.

Finalize Adoption

FCP requires all adopted animals to be vaccinated, chipped, spayed/neutered and registered in the adopters name.

Finally its time to sign the adoption papers and take your pet home!

It's important to remember that it will take time for your pet to adjust to their new environment.
